PURPOSE:
The state level Junior Olympic 3-Position Air Rifle Championships are
designed to qualify competitors to attend the National Junior Olympic
3-Position Air Rifle Championships.
This program encourages the continued growth of air rifle competition
throughout the

ELIGIBILITY: All participants must be currently enrolled in grade school, middle school, high school or equivalent program. Because of the support given to the program by the Wyoming State Shooting Association, membership in WSSA will be required ($5 membership fee per shooter). USA Shooting membership is not required. Clubs and individuals are encouraged to become members of USA Shooting and one or more of the sponsoring organizations (Civilian Marksmanship Program, NRA).
RULES:
The current edition of the National Standard Three-Position Air Rifle
Rulebook for precision and sporter divisions endorsed by USA Shooting, CMP,
American Legion, 4-H, and JROTC will govern this competition, except eye
protection is required.. This
rulebook is available on the CMP web site at
http://www.odcmp.com/3P/NationalChampionship.htm or from the National
Three-Position Air Rifle Council,
TARGET: The A4-W Kruger target will be used.
SQUADDING: Teams and individuals will be assigned relays based on their entry request on a first come first served basis. Shooters should report to the match director at least 30 minutes prior to their relay.
AWARDS:
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP: The top 14 teams and 5 individuals from the Junior Olympic matches around the country will be invited to attend the National Championship in July. Additional slots for this event will be determined through the CMP regional matches and the NRA Sectionals.
TEAMS: A team will consist of four individuals from the same school, club or group. Teams must be named when entries are made. Team scores will consist of the aggregate of the individual scores fired by the designated team members. Teams may compete in only one division, Precision or Sporter, according to the rules. Mixed teams will have to compete in the Precision division.
COURSE OF FIRE: 3-Position Air Rifle 3x20 (National Standard Air Rifle Rulebook), aggregate score of 20 shots each prone, standing, kneeling fired in that order.

ENTRY FEES:
Individual entry fee is $20 per shooter and $20 for each four-person team
entry. All shooters must
compete as individuals. WSSA junior
membership fees will be collected at check-in. Example:
One team of four members- 4x$20+$20(team fee)=$100 plus WSSA membership
