Call to order by Pres
Minutes from the May 17, 08 annual meeting were read. Discussion held on ‘old bus #4’ and will be addressed under ‘Old Business’. Thus minutes were approved as read with M by Don Rizer, 2nd B Spungin. VV+. Membership @509. Treasurers report on checking activity handed out showing checking account balance $2422.76 as of 9/7/08.
OLD BUSINESS 1] Membership outreach grant applied for $8535. Sec/trea has not rec’d a date when the grant will be issued or declined. 2] Ed Cassidy has done a splendid job of maintaining the web site. Still needs more BOD articles. 3] The wording of the letter sent to the Nat Park Service was read. The comment period has been extended, so don’t expect a ruling any time soon. 4] Bev Spungin reported on the State Fair booth; 5 lanes set up; most youth had shot before and needed very little coaching; lanes busy all the time; didn’t think any need to set up any earlier than Tuesday. It was worth while and may have picked up a couple of jr HP shooters for a Perry Team. 5] May 17th Old Bz item 4 indicated $600 to be spent for case prep & powder. Roy Bane understood the $ was to be used for any jr HP needs and mentioned the need for slings. M by Phillip Morgan, to allow the balance to be used for Jr HP and that 25% of the M1 raffle be earmarked for the Jr HP program. 2nd by Robert Carney { Discussion held to explain the 25% would divide the 50% set in item 1 New Bz May 17 into Jr HP and Jr Fund.} VV+
NEW BUSINESS 1] Winter meeting date Dec 13th, location to be in Oct newsletter. 2] Roy Bane handed out and explained his design for a “WSSA Lifetime Achievement Award”. Discussion held and tabled until the next meeting. It should be given coverage in the next newsletter and ask for comments from the membership. 3] Bane displayed the ‘Greg Strom Trophy’ which is designed to hold the HP Champions names for 20 years.
Competitions report- Sebesta listed the smallbore
silh’t champion as Bob Snyder, Littleton, CO in both huntr and std. Std HP silh’t
went to Bob McAlice, Arvada, CO and the HP hunting
rifle went to Ron Kamp, Daniel. Bane has Cody interested in long range HP
and HP for ’09; service rifle expected to be in

PS. At least 1283 targets used at EXPO. Thanks to Kristalle Willcutt’s help at the WSSA booth 423$ of M1 tickets sold. The NRA grant has been approved; funds to be sent after additional forms rec’d at NRA.
