VICE PRESIDENTS COLUMN
Hello,
I am Beverly Spungin, the Vice President of Wyoming State
Shooting Association.
I
would like to express some ideas here.
Please feel free to take up a dialogue with me if
anything strikes you to do so.
To begin, I am concerned about the future of our association.
We have had the same officers for some time now.
They all do a very good job, especially our
Secretary/Treasurer, whom we could not get along without.
But, looking to the future, I certainly would like to see some younger
people become involved to ensure the survival of our association.
Many people have fear that they are not up to the job, they are not sure
what it entails.
To begin, one should start coming to meetings and participating
in discussion and whatever events WSSA is holding.
After awhile they can get a sense of how we work, how
they would like it to work, and what they would like to accomplish in the
future.
Many of the directors slots are unfilled right now.
If someone had an interest, he or she could volunteer to
man one of those, doing with it as opportunities opened up.
This is an election year.
I hope clubs/individuals look at this as something that
should be fostered.
They should nominate candidates and cast their votes for
their choices.
Our winter meeting is Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Ramada Inn Coffee Shop,
in Casper.
It is up the stairs toward the back.
We meet over coffee and some of us order lunch after the
meeting and just chat and catch up with each other.
Over the years we have become friends, and it certainly
is nice seeing them.
Please consider helping if you have an interest in the shooting
sports/young people shooting/legislation/hunting and perpetuating the shooting
culture.
This culture is hard under attack everyday, as you well know.
This organization is one of the bulwarks of freedom and
deserves your assistance.
