The Winner of the M1 is Lewis Barasha, of Wellington, CO.

Congratulations Lewis !!!!

Finally we were able to make contact with this years M1 winner.  He is a captain in the Air Force and was hurt quite badly in Afghanistan from a suicide bomber.  He had traumatic brain injury, which will take him a long time to recover from.  He is quite a talented, and physically healthy looking young man, we all hope the best for him and his wife.

A note from VP Beverly

I would like to wish all our WSSA members a very Happy Thanksgiving, a wonderful dinner with their loved ones, or at least having them in their hearts.  As you may know, we lost our son Fred, Christmas Day, '09.  Fred loved shooting and actually was a very good shot.  He did compete a little, shooting the M1 matches in Cheyenne.  That was a time we remember with fondness.  He seemed to enjoy meeting everyone and tried to do his best at the shooting.  He only real problem was getting up so early on a Saturday when he did not have to do to work.  Hold your loved ones close, and remember those who are no longer with you, especially to know how special they were to you.
Mark and I appreciate all the support our membership gives us through the entire year.  You purchase tickets for the M1 raffle, or sell them, you attend meetings when you can, you follow our legislative efforts and contact your local representative about bills you support, you wear the WSSA shirt and help sign up new members, you support local youth shooting and shooting in general.  One of the most important things you do is provide a favorable environment for shooting, guns and all that is related.  A positive environment and accepted attitude toward shooting is so important in our negative anti (everything we support) world.
So, pat yourselves of the back, enjoy the holidays and expect to be back at work by the next legislative session.
